Learn to Skate

Basic Skills classes are the foundation for both Learn to Play Hockey and Freestyle Figure Skating. The Basic Skills levels are developed by  Learn to Skate USA and are designed to be the best beginning ice-skating program. This program caters to the need of both the recreational and the competitive skater.

The Learn to Skate program allows skaters of all ages and abilities to learn the fundamental skills necessary to play hockey, figure skate or just recreational skating. Conway Arena is confident that you will find the Learn to Skate USA program to be a fun and encouraging skating experience. Each skater will develop their own individual coordination and balance skills as well as learn the correct techniques of skating.

Open Freestyle ice provides the more advanced skater with an opportunity to work with a private instructor or gain extra practice time before their next big event. Skaters must be Basic 7 or above, or in a lesson, to utilize the Freestyle Ice. Please see our Freestyle page for more information.
